A Community Interest Company (CIC) is a business that has to put its community first by law. Any surplus osky makes goes back into the mission - not into private pockets. An official "asset lock" keeps it that way, so the platform stays on the side of the people who use it.
When osky does well, sellers and buyers should feel it too. Surplus can be put back into lower seller costs, better tools and real support for independent makers. As a CIC, we also have to report each year on how we serve the community - so it's a promise we're held to, not just a slogan.
